Editorial policy
This page explains how the guides and educational content on pura-mama.com are created, reviewed, and maintained. We'd rather be transparent about our process than impressive about it.
How content is created
Guides are drafted by the Pura Mama team, with AI assistance used for drafting and translation work. Every published page is edited by a human, and no page is published from an AI draft without human review and revision. Our English, Spanish, and French pages are written to stand on their own — neutral Latin American Spanish and warm Québécois French, not machine-translated English.
Who reviews it
Nutrition guidance across our guides is reviewed by Daniela Prado, CPPNS, Certified Postpartum Nutrition Specialist and founder of Pura Mama. Each guide displays its reviewer and its last-updated date. As Pura Mama grows, we intend to add independent clinical reviewers — registered dietitians and midwives — and will name them here.
Sources
We source health information from primary and public-health references — the World Health Organization, MedlinePlus (U.S. National Library of Medicine), the CDC, and comparable bodies — and each guide lists its sources at the bottom. Where traditions and evidence diverge, we say so plainly.
What this content is not
Everything on this site and in the Pura Mama app is educational. It is not medical advice, and it does not diagnose or treat any condition. It complements — never replaces — your doctor, midwife, or dietitian. For urgent symptoms, contact your provider or local emergency services.
Updates and corrections
Guides carry their last-reviewed date and are revised as guidance evolves. If you spot an error, we genuinely want to know: hello@pura-mama.com.
